CKC Canine Good Neighbour Testing

By admin in News on June 15, 2012 - No Comments

Mark you calendar for Saturday August 18 as Pooch Partners will be the host for the Canadian Kennel Club’s (CKC) Canine Good Neighbour (CGN) certification testing! This is open to all dogs – no need to be registered or purebred.

As stated on the CKC’s website, the purpose of the CGN is to identify and reward responsible, caring owners and their canine partners and to ensure that one of our most favoured companions, the dog, is accepted as a valued member of our communities right across the country!

The test is non-competitive and allows dog and handler to demonstrate confidence and control in 12 steps.

It assesses the handler and dog’s relationship, together with the handler’s ability to control the dog. Dogs are evaluated on their ability to perform basic exercises as well as their ability to demonstrate good manners in everyday situations.

Watch for more details coming soon including a practice session – as both Qilaq & Sesi have successfully obtained their CGN designation Pooch Partners will be hosting a free session for those that pre-register for the test to help you and your pooch prepare!
