In any fitness program, it is important that you set goals that you want to achieve, and of course at Pooch Partners, you need to set goals for your pooch to achieve as well. When deciding on the goals you want to set for yourself and your dog, remember that goals should be Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, and Timed (S.M.A.R.T.) and include actual behaviours.
For a person in relatively good shape, an example of a S.M.A.R.T. goal would be to walk 3 miles at a 15 minute per mile pace in 2 months. This goal is behavioural (walking), specific (3 miles at a pace of 15 minutes/mile), measurable (can track the progress based on the specific goal), attainable, realistic and is timed (2 months).
